Project Brief

Initiated from a universal design research study, this project re-engineers oral care architecture for individuals managing severe joint inflammation. The objective was to eliminate traditional physical interaction thresholds: namely, the vertical activation force required for standard switches and the fine-motor strain of rotating lock-and-twist brush heads.

To address this, we engineered a zero-pressure touch interface alongside an auto-aligning magnetic coupling system, rendering activation and head replacement completely effortless. The internal chassis integrates a counter-balanced, stabilized motor system to absorb resonant vibrations and reduce muscular fatigue. Externally, a fully recyclable, optically clear transparent shell houses the assembly, combining functional industrial transparency with circular manufacturing principles.

Oral care without force and pain.

By decoupling mechanical resistance from human interaction, the system redefines accessibility through minimalist hardware, transforming a high-friction medical necessity into a seamless, empowering ritual.
